A growing retail company headquartered in Downtown Los Angeles is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This role offers a hybrid work schedule and the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
Prepare financial reports and support internal reporting requirements
Process and review AP/AR transactions and ensure proper coding
Assist with inventory accounting, cost analysis, and variance reporting
Support the preparation of sales tax filings and other compliance-related tasks
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations and merchandising
Provide support for audits and other ad-hoc financial projects
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in retail or a consumer goods environment
Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems preferred
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a team setting
